At a time when the real estate industry in Kenya is grappling with a crisis of confidence—especially among diaspora clients—Amara Realty Company is emerging as a rare gem, driven by integrity, innovation, and a deeply rooted commitment to excellence.
Founded in 2021 and led by the visionary Jane Baiyu, Amara Realty is not just building houses—it is redefining the dream of modern, sustainable living.
Over the past few years, the company has swiftly established a reputation for delivering high-quality homes on time and without controversy, even as skepticism toward the industry continues to rise due to a string of high-profile scams and failed projects.
In contrast, Amara Realty has stood out for its transparency, integrity, and distinctive architectural designs.
New chapter unfolds in Thika
On Saturday, 12 July 2025, the company reached another major milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for Phase Two of Oint Country Homes, located in Thika.
This follows the advancement of Phase One, which is near completion. The company plans to deliver the units to their owners in December.
Phase Two will comprise 28 eco-friendly modern country homes, with a mix of spacious three-bedroom all-ensuite condominiums and four-bedroom villas with DSQs. The development also features green spaces, a clubhouse, swimming pool, gym, children’s play area, and a shopping facility, reflecting the company’s holistic approach to community building.

“The groundbreaking of The Oint Country Homes, Phase Two is a significant step toward our vision of building homes that inspire and sustain,” said Baiyu,
“This project is about more than just houses; it’s about fostering a community where families can thrive, connect, and grow in an environmentally conscious setting,” she elaborated
As part of the launch, two showhouses were unveiled to give prospective buyers a feel of the refined lifestyle that awaits them.
“Today we gather, not to just unveil beautiful homes. We are going to unveil the showhouses today, to groundbreak for the next phase, but we also gather here to witness the doings of the Lord,” said Baiyu.
Community trust as a cornerstone
The groundbreaking event brought together industry stakeholders, local leaders, clients, and the media for a memorable day filled with guided tours and inspiring remarks.
Perhaps the most compelling endorsement came from James Gathura Nduati, a retired senior accountant.

“You can trust Jane with your money. We have not heard any complaint about her,” he said.
“As an experienced and retired accountant, it is not easy to find a company that has developed such magnificent units without any complaints. This is a very high level of trust.”
His sentiments echoed widely among the gathered guests and clients, especially given the backdrop of increasing cases of fraud and mismanagement in Kenya’s real estate space.
Lifeline for the diaspora
Margaret Muya, who lives in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, and is one of the diaspora clients of Amara Realty, was full of praise for the firm.
“As a beneficiary of this company, I can recommend it to anyone intending to put a dream home in Kenya while in diaspora. Amara Realty is a trustworthy company,” she said.

Mrs Muya noted that the process of acquiring her home had been seamless and free of the financial strain and uncertainty often associated with transacting from abroad. She described the company as a “destiny connector”—a sentiment that struck a chord with many others present.
Anne Kagwanja, another client, shared a similar experience:

“Together with my husband, who lives in Indiana, USA, we had looked for several real estate companies to help set up our dream home. After a thorough search, we settled on Amara Realty, after seeing the quality of work they have been doing and the short time they have been taking in completing their clients’ units,” she said.
Redefining the future of real estate
In just four years, Amara Realty has managed to do what many companies have failed to achieve in decades—build trust and deliver results. The company’s steady rise is a testament to what can be accomplished when leadership, vision, and a strong moral compass intersect with solid business practices.

As the real estate market continues to evolve, Amara’s model is quickly becoming a blueprint for how companies can restore credibility and meet the growing demand for quality housing—particularly from the Kenyan diaspora looking to invest back home.
As most Kenyans in the diaspora embark on investing in their dream retirement homes back home, Baiyu has promised to deliver the units in record time while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
“We shall remain committed to our course—delivering the best!” she says.
