Nairobi, Kenya – May 28, 2025 — The sixth edition of the Inclusive Africa Conference, a leading platform for advancing digital inclusion for persons with disabilities, will be held from June 3 to 5, 2025, at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi.
Organized by inABLE, the three-day event will bring together global technology giants, government agencies, innovators, and disability rights organizations to explore groundbreaking solutions that promote equitable digital access across Africa.
With this year’s theme, “Scaling Digital Accessibility through Innovation & Entrepreneurship,” the conference aims to catalyze progress by spotlighting artificial intelligence (AI) as a game-changing tool for assistive technology across key sectors such as finance, education, travel, and public transportation.
“In today’s increasingly digital world, accessibility is not a luxury or an afterthought but a fundamental human right and a critical foundation for full economic participation,” said Irene Mbari-Kirika, founder and Executive Director of inABLE.
Tech giants and innovators join forces
Tech industry leaders from companies such as Google, Microsoft, Meta, Uber, and Intuit will join forces with entrepreneurs, educators, and policymakers to discuss scalable digital accessibility models. A cohort of 15 carefully selected innovators will also pitch their assistive tech solutions to potential investors and venture capitalists, providing a platform for cutting-edge ideas that could transform lives across the continent.

One of the major highlights of the conference will be the observance of the World Day for Assistive Technology, emphasizing the global significance of inclusive digital practices. The conference also comes at a pivotal time following the recent signing of Kenya’s Persons with Disabilities Act 2025 by President William Ruto. This landmark legislation aligns with both the Kenyan Constitution and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, offering a robust legal framework for safeguarding and advancing the rights of persons with disabilities.
Driving policy change and regional harmonization
The conference will further discuss the harmonization of ICT accessibility policies across African nations. Stakeholders will review progress and identify opportunities to create a unified approach to digital inclusion, with the aim of fostering greater collaboration and standardization across borders.
Since its inception in 2020, the Inclusive Africa Conference has grown to become a premier event for digital inclusion on the continent. Each year, it provides a dynamic forum for knowledge sharing, live demonstrations, high-level policy dialogue, and meaningful networking. Through its commitment to showcasing assistive technologies and influencing policy reform, the conference is steadily reshaping the future of disability inclusion in Africa.
