Former Shinyalu Member of Parliament, Daniel Khamasi, has passed away at the age of 79.
Khamasi, who served two consecutive terms from 1997 to 2007, died on Tuesday morning at a Nairobi hospital following a prolonged illness. His passing marks the end of a distinguished political career that left a lasting impact on the people of Shinyalu and the wider Kakamega County.
During his decade-long tenure in Parliament, Khamasi was known for his commitment to grassroots development and community empowerment. He championed initiatives aimed at improving education, healthcare, and infrastructure, often engaging directly with local leaders to ensure that development projects met the needs of his constituents. On behalf of the people of Kakamega County, I convey my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the people of Shinyalu. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
