Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, lit up the internet when they met in Kirinyaga County during the burial of the county’s former Senator, Daniel Karaba.
The two are among thousands of mourners attending the burial of the late Senator, who passed away on March 23 at the age of 77.
The burial is currently underway at Njegas Primary School in Kirinyaga Central, Kirinyaga County.

Other leaders present include Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Jubilee Party leader Fred Matiang’i, among others.

The meeting between the two leaders comes hot on the heels of discussions about a possible political handshake between them, as campaigns for the 2027 elections intensify.
