Kenya’s candidate for the Africa Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship position, Raila Odinga, has dropped out of the race.
This is after the voting took six rounds with no outright winner in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Raila dropped having garnered 22 votes while Djibouti’s candidate Youssouf Mahmoud had garnered 26 votes.
A candidate needs 33 votes to be declared the winner.
Earlier on, Madagascar’s candidate Richard Randriamandrato also dropped out.
