Popular Kikuyu musician Samido’s song, ‘Toxic Love”, has been pulled down from YouTube.
The song, which had amassed over 3.5 million views on YouTube, had become so popular across different demographic divides in Kenya, as it had been composed through a unique country music-like style.
According to YouTube’s notification, the song was pulled down following a copyright claim by Morey Wakibiru and SK Rurii for their song “Thuutha wa Mauundu” (After the Happenings).
Samidoh (known Samuel Muchoki) is among the most successful benga musicians from the Mt Kenya region.
The two alleges melody theft.
