Karangu Muraya: Why I married second wife, Carol Kim

In a heartfelt revelation, gospel singer and social media influencer Karangu Muraya has explained why he chose to marry Carol Kim as his second wife, following years of tension and emotional turmoil in his first marriage with Triza Njeri.

Speaking candidly on Tuesday, 18 February, 2025, Karangu shed light on the emotional and physical toll his crumbling marriage took on him, including health complications like high blood pressure and diabetes.

“My marriage with Triza had been difficult for a long time. There were times we could go for up to six months without talking to each other,” Karangu shared.

“The atmosphere at home was tense, and every time I walked in, the mood would shift. Triza would appear happy before I got home, but as soon as I stepped inside, everything changed.”

Despite his best efforts, including involving friends and neighbours in attempts to mend their bond, nothing seemed to ease the growing distance between them.

Triza even confessed that his presence made her “lack peace,” an admission that broke Karangu’s heart.

The stress of the deteriorating relationship led to health issues for the businessman, who admitted he even battled suicidal thoughts at one point.

“It became emotionally draining,” Karangu revealed. “I was seeking peace, and in that search, I decided to step away from the house—not because I wanted to abandon my marriage, but because I needed peace.”

He moved out of the matrimonial home, seeking refuge in a rental house in Kasarani, Nairobi, with Carol Kim, who had been a supportive presence in his life.

“With Carol, I found peace. We have never fought. She understands my pain, my anger, and my weaknesses,” he said. “We have been together since 2022, but I kept the relationship private for fear of judgment.”

AlthoughTriza was initially unaware of his relationship with Carol, Karangu made sure to inform her once they began seeing each other. “I wanted to be open with Triza and ensure the two never crossed paths,” he explained.

The situation took a dramatic turn during a TikTok live session, where Triza discovered, to her shock, that Karangu had already paid dowry for Carol Kim.

 “I was never told about this. Why didn’t you involve me?” she asked, clearly hurt by the omission.

The singer’s family dynamics also surfaced during the live session, with Triza expressing feelings of isolation, claiming that she had been sidelined by Karangu’s relatives.

However, Karangu defended his family, stating he had no control over their interactions with Triza.

Amid the tension, Karangu continues to call for reconciliation, especially for the sake of their children.

“Our home belongs to you as much as it belongs to me,” he told Triza during the TikTok session, urging her to return for the sake of their family.
