Busia County’s Jane Brown Bwire has risen from local recognition to the national stage, using her platform in beauty pageantry to drive change and inspire communities.
Jane Brown Bwire’s story begins in the heart of Busia County, where she was raised in a community that valued resilience, hard work, and compassion. From a young age, Jane stood out for her grace, intelligence, and empathy — qualities that would later propel her into national recognition.
Her first step into the limelight came in 2021, when she was crowned Miss Sangalo Institute. That win marked the start of a promising pageantry journey that has since grown into a remarkable career of titles and advocacy.
Rising Through the Ranks
In 2024, Jane’s career reached a new milestone under the mentorship of Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, Ababu Namwamba. That year, she won the prestigious Miss Talanta Express title, gaining recognition beyond her home county.
Over the years, she has proudly held seven other pageant crowns, each one a symbol of her persistence and her ability to inspire those around her.
Now, in 2025, Jane is set to represent Busia County at the Miss Tourism Kenya competition — a stage she has long dreamed of gracing.

A Vision for Tourism
For Jane, tourism is not simply about sightseeing. She believes it begins with people — the communities, cultures, and untold stories that make Kenya unique.
“Tourism is about celebrating who we are as Kenyans, and the heritage that binds us together,” Jane has often said during her campaign trail.

Beyond the Crown: A Changemaker
Jane’s journey is not just about titles and beauty. She has consistently used her platforms to give back to society, standing out as a changemaker with a passion for service.
Through her Jigger Campaign, she has raised awareness and worked to combat the painful menace of jigger infestations that affect vulnerable families across Busia and beyond.
In addition, her Naburi Care Initiative embodies her personal motto, #MakeAChildSmile. The program focuses on bringing joy, education, and hope to children, ensuring that young people from disadvantaged backgrounds have opportunities to thrive.
