Mwea-East Sub-County Police Commander Mohammed Jarso confirmed that the gruesome discovery was made by a housemaid while she was cleaning the toilets. Shocked by what she found, she immediately alerted her employer, who then reported the matter to Wang’uru Police Station.
Unidentified victim and ongoing investigations
Authorities are yet to identify the deceased, with forensic experts set to conduct an autopsy to determine her identity.
“We are working swiftly to establish who the victim is because even the suspect’s father does not know her,” said a police officer involved in the investigation.
The suspect’s father, his wife, and three employees have already recorded statements at Wang’uru Police Station as detectives’piece together the events leading to the crime.
A troubled family history
Speaking to the media, the suspect’s father expressed deep distress over his son’s actions. He revealed that his son had struggled academically, failed to complete university, and had previously demanded a share of the family business.
“I have tried to take him to rehabilitation and counseling, but nothing worked. And now, he has killed someone’s daughter and dumped her in a septic tank between my business premises and my home,” he said.
The father, who is cooperating with police, has been actively searching for his son.
“I have been looking for him all day. I just want him arrested because I cannot even run my business in peace,” he added.
Community outrage and police efforts
The incident has sparked outrage among Ngurubani residents, who have condemned the rising cases of femicide in the country.
