Media personality Jacque Maribe’s father, Mwangi Maribe, will be buried on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
According to a statement released on Saturday, December 26, 2025, the family announced burial and memorial arrangements following his death after a prolonged illness.
In the statement, the family expressed deep sorrow while paying tribute to Mwangi Maribe, whom they described as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, in-law, friend, patron and respected community.
He passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, after bravely enduring a long illness.
The family said that it has been comforted by the outpouring of messages, prayers and support received since the announcement of her father’s death, noting that he remained strong and dignified despite the health challenges he faced in recent years.
Memorial and burial programme
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, starting at 10:00 a.m. at Worldwide Gospel Church in Buruburu. The church is located along Rabai Road, next to the Rubis Petrol Station.
Family members, friends, colleagues and members of the wider community are expected to attend the service to celebrate the life of the late and offer condolences to the bereaved.
The burial ceremony will then take place three days later, on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at his rural home in Gathaithi Village.

In preparation for the burial, the family has organised daily planning meetings at several locations.
These include meetings at the family residence in Buruburu Phase 4, Eregero Court, House Number 117. Additional meetings are being held daily at Castle Garden starting from December 26 at 5:00 p.m., as well as at the family’s rural home in Gathaithi Village to coordinate arrangements on the ground.
Family appeals for prayers and support
The family disclosed that the late had been in and out of hospital for some time, a situation that placed considerable financial strain on them due to medical expenses and ongoing care.
As a result, they have appealed to friends, relatives and well-wishers for prayers and financial support to enable them to accord him a dignified and befitting send-off.
