Radio 47 and TV47 presenter Liz Mutuku has drawn praise from senior national leaders after officially unveiling the Lizah Foundation International during a high-profile ceremony held at Panari Hotel on Thursday night, May 8, 2026.
The colourful event brought together prominent leaders including Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi, Health Principal Secretary Dr. Ouma Olunga, MCSK CEO Ezekiel Mutua, Members of Parliament, senior government officials, clergy, media practitioners, as well as Mutuku’s family and friends.
Kalonzo hails resilience and transformation
In his remarks, Kalonzo Musyoka lauded Mutuku’s journey from modest beginnings to becoming a prominent media personality and now a philanthropist, describing her story as one of purpose and determination.

He added that her career in journalism has been anchored on truth and impact rather than popularity. “Her stories do not chase clout. They chase truth, impact, and meaning that remains long after the headlines fade. That is a rare gift,” he said.
Kalonzo further noted that the foundation’s mission aligns with broader efforts to uplift young people and vulnerable communities. “Sometimes closing the gap for the next generation only takes one person deciding to show up. Liz has chosen to show up, and together we shall Komboa Kenya,” he added.
Wandayi and leaders back foundation vision
Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi also commended Mutuku, saying her transition into philanthropy demonstrated leadership beyond the newsroom. He emphasized the importance of partnerships between government and private initiatives in addressing social challenges and empowering communities.
Wandayi noted that supporting such initiatives would help strengthen development efforts targeting vulnerable groups across the country.
Mutuku outlines mission of hope and empowerment
In her address, Mutuku expressed gratitude to the leaders and guests who attended the launch, saying their presence reaffirmed confidence in her vision.
“I am deeply honoured to be joined by these esteemed leaders and guests. It is not every day that you call on leaders and they respond with such support. Your presence humbles me,” she said.

She explained that the foundation will focus on education support, women empowerment programmes, youth mentorship, and environmental conservation.
