Former presidential candidate in the 2022 general elections, Mwaure Waihiga, wants President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to solve their personal differences or quit their positions.
Mwaure, who vied for presidency on the Agano Party ticket, and who was the first to concede, said that Kenyans have withstood a lot of challenges for two years the Kenya Kwanza administration has been in power.
Through a statement on Friday night, Mwaure said Ruto and Gachagua’s personal fights have been of no benefit to Kenyans.
“Kenyans are not interested in your personal fights nor are they interested in your global agendas towards Kenya which seek to control every aspect of our sovereign nation. No! Kenyans want delivery on promises made,” said Mwaure in a tearse statement.
Mwaure said that Kenyans have options for alternative leadership, should the two fail to solve their differences and steer the country towards the right political and economic trajectory.
“There were four cleared presidential candidates and two are still available, with myself ready to run against the other anytime. Before clearances, there were more candidates who also had deputies. Hence, Kenya is not short of potential Presidents and Deputies who have a vision, a will, a love for their nation and an ability to transform this nation,” he added.
Since last week, Gachagua has been on a warpath with President Ruto and a section of Kenya Kwanza MPs, after it emerged that they are laying a ground for his impeachment.
Although Ruto has been studiously silent on the impeachment claims, impeccable sources told Newsflash that the motion has already been tabled in Parliament.
On Monday, 23rd September 2023, Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana filed a censure motion against Gachagua, for the Senate to discuss his conduct.
Although an impeachment motion is supposed to originate from the National Assembly, political analysts told Newsflash that Mungatana’s motion is “a sign of early preparations for the political storm awaiting the embattled DP.”
