The son to the late renowned Bungoma gynaecologist Dr.George Webala might not report to his dream high school due to lack of fees.
Nicodemus Webala (14), scored 376 marks in the 2019 KCPE and was called to join St.Mary’s Kibabii boys in Kanduyi constituency, however, he has not reported due to lack of school fees.
Webala junior is the second son to a fourth wife of the late and schooled at Christ the King academy in Bungoma town.
The late Dr.Webala was a gynaecologist at Lumboka hospital now Life care hospital and Elgon view hospital in Bungoma town.
The son is now appealing to well wishers, doctors, NGO’s and the county government to come to his aid and help him join high school.
“I wish to study and become an engineer, already my friends reported on Monday yet am still at home, my mother can’t afford my fees because we survive from hand to mouth,” he said.
His mother Elizabeth Webala said that his efforts to get help to educate her son has hit a snag and it may force her son to drop out of school.
“Am asking well wishers to come to my aid, already am burdened, my eldest son is in form one at St.Luke’s Kimilili boys and I can’t afford my second son’s fees, I do casual work of washing people’s clothes on daily for meals, am requesting people of good will to come to my aid,” she said.
She stated that she has other three boys in primary school and it is very tough for her.
