Bukhungu BBI meeting is meant to endorse Raila for 2022 presidential bid -Bumula Mp

Bumula Mp Mwambu Mabongah has sensationally claimed that the planned Building Bridges Initiative meeting is meant to endorse Raila Odinga for the 2022 presidential race.
The BBI meeting in Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega town slated for January 18 has been organized by Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa, Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Cotu general secretary Francis Atwoli but ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetang’ula have organized a parallel meeting in Mumias town.
Addressing residents at Tabala primary school during the opening of three classrooms constructed by CDF on January 13, Mabongah said that majority Luhya community leaders have been left out of the planning committee and everything is being done in Nyanza while they are receiving leftovers.
“We aren’t going to accept the tricks being used to endorse Raila for the presidential bid through the name of sensitising Kenyans on the BBI documents, let the money that is channeled on this course be used to print more booklets so that it can be distributed to Kenyans for them to read, otherwise let the Luhya nation chat their way forward instead of being fronted by Raila,” said Mabonga.
He called on Mudavadi and Wetang’ula to give the community the best direction instead of being directed by a stranger.
“If the duo directs us, we will follow them, we can’t be directed by some strangers, let them convene a parallel meeting on January 18 either in Mumias, Busia or Bungoma and give us direction that we will follow, we will no longer blindly follow strangers who have their own hidden agenda,” said the independent legislator.
The law maker stated that apparently the handshake is proving to be more expensive than the big four agenda and which is more dangerous.
“BBI which is the brain child of the handshake had good ideas but some individuals are using it to advance their political egoism which must not realize its agenda, the regional meetings has got the hidden agenda and it should be resisted by Kenyans of good will because majority of them haven’t read what is contained in the report,” said the Mp.
He urged the government to use the money used to organize regional meetings to be used to print more BBI booklets so that it is distributed to Kenyans or let the cash be used to equip hospitals with enough medicines and medical equipments instead of being used for unsuccessful meetings.
“The 2012/13 handshake between Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto wasn’t this expensive and am not opposed to the current handshake between Uhuru and Raila but but it shouldn’t be an avenue for somebody to rebrand himself politically, the same person fronting the regional meetings, chased out ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula from NASA, Weta was even removed as the senate minority leader,” said Mabongah.
He affirmed that the 2022 presidential race will be between the deputy president William Ruto and Nasa leader Raila Odinga.
“I will automatically support Ruto because I don’t want my people to be in opposition again, I need development in my constituency and the only person who will help me succeed is the current DP,” said Mabongah
