Wamunyinyi’s bro stabbed to death by his nephew during a fight.


A brother to Kanduyi Mp Wafula Wamunyinyi has been killed in cold blood.

The deceased Joseph Wamalwa Wekesa (35) from Buema village in Musikoma ward was stabbed several times on the chest by his nephew Nicholas Simiyu Wafula (30) using a kitchen knife.

According to Bungoma South Police Station OCS Mr.George Odongo says that the murder report was reported by area Mp Wafula Wamunyinyi who is the resident of Ranje village at 0641hrs on November 29, 2019.

He reported that Wekesa a luhya male adult had been fatally injured in a fight with one of their nephews namely Nicholas Simiyu Wafula(suspect), also a luhya male adult.

“It happened that the family was preparing for a memorial anniversary of the late Mathew Austin Wafula Wamunyinyi, which was to take place to at Burma Village, Tuuti Sub Location and at around 0130hrs, the deceased disagreed with the suspect and a fight ensued. The deceased injured the suspect on the head and right hand thumb finger using a machete.

The suspect rushed and picked a kitchen knife and followed the deceased to his house where he stabbed him on the chest.

He also killed two dogs and smashed the window panes of the deceased’s house,” wrote the law maker. Police source said both the deceased and the suspect were rushed to hospital.

“The deceased succumbed to the injuries at around 0500hrs while undergoing treatment at Bungoma West Hospital while the Suspect is admitted at Dawameds Hospital in a stable condition,” said the report.

The scene was visited by police based in Bungoma and processed.

 The deceased body was transferred to Life Care Hospital mortuary formerly Lumboka hospital awaiting postmortem.
