Members of the Bukembe East Development Forum (Bedef) whatsApp forum has donated foodstuffs to Nzoia Sugar Company workers during cane replanting.

They also turned up in large numbers to replant cane at the firm’s nucleus.
The members joined the firm managing director CPA Michael Wanjala in an exercise meant to increase sugarcane acreage.
Nzoia Sugar Company is replanting sugarcane at its nucleus to help have enough raw materials for crushing.
Bedef Chairman Webster Wechuli and other members also donated 100 loaves of bread and ten boxes of Milk to the workers and contracted farmers that are carrying out the planting exercise.
Bedef members present included Whips Fred Khaemba and Jones Munjaru, Elvis Wanyonyi, Brenda Barasa, Simon Ndombi, Maurine Wanyonyi, Peter Sitati, Shadrack Masinde, Steve Mabele, Cleophas Kiberenge and Dorine Wafula
So far 171 hectares have been planted and the MD expects 3,600 hectares to be planted by the end of December in an exercise that has been dubbed Rapid Results Initiative (RRI).
