Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has urged security agencies to investigate spates of killings in Akobwait village in Teso South Sub County that spans over six years.
The Governor’s appeal came following the recent killing of Leonaria Nafuna Nyongesa who was murdered by unknown people in her house, in a bizarre incident that has shocked the residents of the village.
Addressing mourners during her burial on Saturday May 25, the governor said it appears the killers are people who hail from within the vicinity.

He said the National Treasury has released Sh40m out of Sh118m education bursary and which will be due for disbursement next week.
On health, the Governor said funds for purchase of equipment in dispensary and health centres will also be ready by next week, adding that distribution of Sh54m worth of drugs is also still on-going.
