Kenyans have contributed to the country’s economic growth through engaging in small and micro enterprise businesses an Mp has said.
Kimilili Mp Didmus barasa says that it is through empowering various groups financially through SMEs that they can push for economic growth.
This has led to him once again economically empower various groups.
On Monday May 20, Barasa commissioned various income generating projects in his constituency.
During the launch of Kambini chick hatchery, the outspoken legislature encouraged area residents in taking part in small enterprises that will be a game changer and beneficial to the community.
“Since these are the projects that build the Kenyan economy unlike engaging in dangerous businesses such as selling of fake gold,” he said.
The law maker also condemned the latest incident in Matungu constituency, Kakamega County following an incident where a 7 year old child was stabbed to death on her way to school in Bulimbo.
“If such fellows calling themselves 42 brothers are still persistent i urge the residents to look for them so that we can completely fish them out the way we did in Kimilili,” he added.
The hatchery is expected to be used to quickly hatch more chicks in a span of twenty one days.
On matters health, Barasa pledged that he will pump in funds to revamp the Kambini dispensary and called on the county government to fully equip the dispensary drugs once it is completed. He also asked governor Wycliffe Wangamati to unite with him in implementing projects that will benefit residents of Kimilili constituency.
