A Sirisia politician Moses Nandalwe wants the Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet to transfer all overstayed police officers based at Malakisi policestation.
Nandalwe popularly known as Mr Money bags pointed out that the officers are no longer protecting life and properties but have turned out to criminals killing and maiming innocent Wananchi.
Speaking on January 4 during the burial of George Lumbuku a County government employee felled by a police ammunition in Butonge village, the flamboyant politician called on the police IG to overhaul the security apparatus in Sirisia constituency.
“Bwana Boinnet Sirisia residents are living in fear, they can’t trust men in uniform, they are no longer protecting their lives and property but they have turned out to harm them instead, crack your whip through transferring them and deploying new ones,” said Nandalwe.
He stated that residents can’t withstand police brutality and extra judicial killings.
He called on Bungoma West Deputy County Commissioner to lead the investigations that will help identify Lumbuku’s killers.
“Instead of looking for criminals and arresting them, police officers are busy summoning me to record a statement for the allegations of inciting locals to demonstrate, let them find something to do because am not a suspect who killed Lumbuku,” said Nandalwe.
He also warned Police officers based at Malakisi police station to stop extra judicial killings.
“The shooting looks like an extra judicial killings, let the Independent Policing and Oversight Authority (IPOA) officers investigate and apprehend the suspects for their heinous act,” he said.
Lumbuku was allegedly felt by the police bullet who are said that were on a mission to stop selling of illicit brew.
Angry residents later torched Butonge sub chief house and destroyed everything in his compound.
Bungoma West OCPD Andrew Njeru had earlier indicated that any officer that would have been found to have involved in the shooting will be dealt with accordingly.
Nandalwe vied for sirisia Mp’s seat on an ODM ticket in last year’s polls was defeated by Jubilee’s candidate John Waluke.
