Police arrest a lady posing as the Governor Wangamati’s sister who conned people in a job scam.

Police in Bungoma are holding a lady who has conned unsuspecting members of the public of millions of money in a job scam.

Criminal Investigation Officers arrested the suspect in her hideout in Bungoma town on April 5, after a number of victims reported the matter.

The suspect identified has Centrine Nasimiyu Ting’iting’i comes from Namwesi village, Bukokholo sub location in Sirisia Sub County.

Bungoma OCPD David Kirui confirmed that the suspect who has conned the public over Sh4.5 has been claiming to be Governor Wycliffe Wangamati last born sister.

“She has been telling her victims that she has a direct express from Governor Wangamati to collect money from the public so that they can be employed in various ministries, she is in our custody,” he said.

Kirui said that the suspect will be arraigned in court after investigations are over.

A number of victims were making frantic efforts to write statements after reports reached them that the lady had been arrested.

Mr.Leonard Wanjala from Sitabicha village in Sirisia said that the suspect had conned her sh50,000 so that she could employ his daughter Linet Wafula as the Chief Officer.

An effort to get a comment from Governor Wangamati failed has his communication director Tim Machi did not reply to text messages sent on his mobile phone.
